The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving the educational success of individuals with disabilities and/or gifts and talents.  CEC advocated for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provided professional development, advocates for individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

National Association for the Education of Young Children

Founded in 1926, The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the world's largest organization working on behalf of young children with nearly 80,000 members, a national network of more than 300 state and local Affiliates, and a growing global alliance of like-minded organizations.

U.S. Department of Education

The federal government's education website with many, many resources.

Iowa Department of Education

The state of Iowa's education website. It has data, reports, and other relevant information.

Teachers of English of Other Languages

National Education Association

A professional organization for educators in Pre K-12 schools. Members can access many services.

International Reading Association

IRA is a non-profit, global network of individuals and institutions committed to worldwide literacy. This organization supports literacy through a wide range of resources; including publications, research, and professional development.

Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development

An educational leadership organization dedicated to advancing the best practices and policies for the success of each learner. ASCD publishes a number of books, magazines, and newsletters; supplies resources for professional development; has a variety of initiatives and programs; online learning; and information about various initiatives and programs.

National Council of Teachers of English

Devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels. Providing multiple resources, professional development, and ways to get involved.

Special Education Resources on the Internet

This is a collection of internet-accessible information resources of interest to those involved in the fields related to special education. Topics include disability information, legal resources, disability products, inclusion resources, and much more.

National Science Teachers Association

The Learning Center is NSTA's e-professional development portal to help you address your classroom needs and busy schedule. Gain access to more than 6,800 different resources of which 1,200 are free.  A suite of practical tools such as My Library, My PD Record, and My PD Plan and Portfolio help you organize and document your PD growth.
