Take me to:

In October 2020, Buena Vista University named Dr. Brian Lenzmeier its nineteenth President. We are pleased to announce his Inauguration celebration for Oct. 8, 2021.

President Lenzmeier’s inaugural theme, Celebrating, Evolving, and Transforming Buena Vista University, stems from his rich background in science. He acknowledges how important it is to first and foremost celebrate the history and past successes of the institution before we can begin to look to the future. As a biologist, President Lenzmeier studied organisms evolving and transforming, much like our University has, and will continue to do, over time. As we continue to evolve and transform together, we are guided by three overarching principles: creating quality experiences and outcomes, attaining financial stability, and producing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. These three principles provide a framework for Dr. Lenzmeier’s presidency, and a vision for the University’s future.

The Office of the President leads Buena Vista University toward the goal of becoming a nationally recognized leader in rural higher education. Learn more
