Student Association of Social Workers Helps CAASA
BVU's social work students have made a donation to help local families who are seeking assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marian Riner, Buena Vista University Assistant Professor of Social Work, Director of Field Education, left, presented a check recently to Jenny Ahlers, Sexual Abuse Victim Advocate of Center Against Abuse and Sexual Assault (CAASA). The donation came from BVU’s Student Association of Social Workers.
Ahlers ’04, who majored in social work during her time at BVU, gratefully accepted the donation and thanked BVU for its close working and educational relationship with CAASA, saying, “These funds will be used to help families we serve obtain the basic necessities they need, ranging from food and personal hygiene items, to assistance with utility bills, in this time of crisis during the pandemic.”
