Pre-Law Students Meet Nebraska Supreme Court Justices

Buena Vista University pre-law students got the chance to visit Creighton University School of Law (CUSL), one of BVU's dual degree law program partners, where they met with Nebraska Supreme Court justices during the court's special session on April 2.

The justices heard five cases and participated in a question and answer session with students. Following oral arguments, CUSL's Dean Marianne Culhane and Associate Dean Eric Pearson spent time in conference with BVU's pre-law students offering advice and guidance on law school and careers in the legal profession. During the visit, students also had the opportunity to attend a law school class and spent time meeting with current law students.

The "3+3" dual degree program allows BVU undergraduates in their junior year of study the opportunity to apply and be considered for admission to CUSL's Juris Doctor program and earn their bachelor’s and law degrees in six years. Students complete three years at BVU and three years at CUSL, resulting in one less year of educational costs and the ability to practice law earlier.
