Buena Vista University is accepting nominations for alumni awards, the George Wythe Award, and the student speaker at commencement.
George Wythe Award
When you think of excellence in teaching, what BVU faculty member comes to mind? Who do you know that challenges and inspires students, pushing them to deeper levels of inquiry? All tenured and non-tenured full-time current Storm Lake faculty members, including previous winners, are eligible for consideration. Nominations may come from deans, administrators, faculty, current students, and former students.
Please consider nominating a deserving individual for this award using the online nomination form found at bvu.edu/wythe-nominate. The Wythe Committee will accept nominations through Feb. 14, 2020.
Alumni Awards Nomination
Do you know an alum with outstanding career achievements or potential? How about a Beaver grad dedicated to service and giving back to their community? Visit bvu.edu/nominate to nominate them for one of four alumni awards or alumni board service.
Nominate a Student Commencement Speaker
We are excited to introduce the opportunity of a student speaker at Commencement 2020 in May. Faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members are encouraged to nominate a student by emailing Dr. Lucy Croft, vice president for Student Success at croftl@bvu.edu. Please include the name of the student and 2-3 sentences stating why you believe they would make a good speaker. Students may also nominate themselves and can come from the Storm Lake residential campus, online programs, one of our site locations across the state, or graduate programs. Nominations will be accepted until end of business day on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020.
