Hildman earns Beaver Baseball Diamond Award
Middle-infielder enjoyed success in basketball and baseball

Quinn Hildman ’02 was presented with the 2025 Beaver Baseball Diamond Award during a doubleheader the Beavers hosted against Central on April 8.
Quinn was a math and computer science double-major at BVU. He serves as Director of IT at ARAG Legal Insurance. He and his wife, Katy, have a 13-year-old daughter, Kyla, and a 10-year-old son, Kobe. They reside in Waukee.
“I remember so many great times during my experience as a student and student-athlete at BVU. Many of my teammates became lifelong friends, and we all love to see the Beavers succeed. Katy and I are thrilled to be able to give something back to Beaver Baseball and the BV Club to help current and future Beavers enjoy similar experiences I was fortunate to have with my teammates and coaches. Go Beavers!”

Quinn has a long history with BVU basketball and baseball. In basketball, he played on two regular-season conference championship teams and a pair of conference-tournament title teams. In 2000, his sophomore year, the Beaver basketball team advanced to and hosted a game in the NCAA Division III Sweet 16.
He now gets his basketball fix (and his baseball and softball fix) by coaching the basketball, baseball, and softball teams upon which his children compete.
Once basketball ended each season at Buena Vista, Quinn traded his basketball shoes for spikes and took his place as a middle-infielder on the diamond.
As a junior, Quinn helped welcome a rookie coach in Head Coach Steve Eddie ’00 MSE ’07. Their first team finished 10th in the Iowa Conference. The following year, Quinn’s senior season, the Beavers won 24 games, the most by a BV baseball team in more than 20 years. The Beavers were 24-14 overall, 15-6 in league play, and earned the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
Ever since, Quinn has consistently given back to BVU. He has assisted Beaver student-athletes by offering insight on courses to take, internships and career opportunities to pursue. Quinn and Katy have also helped support BV Baseball through financial gifts for two decades.
“Quinn is a great recipient of the Beaver Baseball Diamond Award because he has remained connected to our baseball program in a lot of ways,” Coach Eddie says. “He continues to check on our team throughout the season. He attends alumni events and is a faithful giver to Beaver baseball through the BV Club.
“He has also helped hire some of our student-athletes for internships and often visits with other players about their careers, specifically those in computer science; all of which means so much to us,” Coach Eddie adds. “We are thrilled to honor Quinn this season!”
“I am humbled and honored to receive the Beaver Baseball Diamond award,” Quinn says. “I remember so many great times during my experience as a student and student-athlete at BVU. Many of my teammates became lifelong friends, and we all love to see the Beavers succeed.
