Finalists Named for 2018 George Wythe Award
The recipient of the award, which was endowed by the late Paul and Vivian McCorkle, will receive a sabbatical and a $30,000 stipend for faculty development.
Four professors have been selected as finalists for Buena Vista University’s 2018 George Wythe Award for Excellence in Teaching. They are:
- Ms. Miranda Pollock, assistant professor of graphic design
- Dr. Gwen Hart, associate professor of English
- Dr. Bethany Larson, professor of theatre
- Dr. Andrea Frantz, professor of digital media
The recipient of the award, which was endowed by the late Paul and Vivian McCorkle, will receive a sabbatical and a $30,000 stipend for faculty development. The winner will be announced on May 25.
The 2018 Wythe Award Selection Committee included Dr. Robbie Ludy (chair), professor of special education; Dr. Melinda Coogan, professor of biology; Dr. Benjamin Maas, assistant professor of environmental science and geology; Ms. Beth Blankers, professor of accounting and assistant dean of the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business; Mr. Jerry Johnson, assistant professor of digital media; Dr. Wind Goodfriend, professor of experimental psychology and assistant dean of graduate studies; and Dr. David Klee, associate professor of instrumental music and director of jazz studies/music production & technology.
