An exciting first has come to our campus this fall. The Harold Walter Siebens School of Business welcomed a new professor this semester, Gary Sterling, instructor of management. Sterling, however, is not the first one in the family to teach at the University, as he is the father of Dr. Kristy McClellan, associate professor of biology in the School of Science.
McClellan teaches rehabilitation health sciences, biomedical sciences, and biology, and was also named a Wythe Award finalist in 2017. She is a faculty advisor for the Undergraduate Rural Medicine Education and Development (URMED) program. McClellan earned her Ph.D. from Colorado State University.
Sterling earned his M.B.A from Pepperdine University. He has since held key management and executive roles at Medtronic and most recently served as CEO of a medical device start-up company. Sterling also worked as a technology strategist at the Institute of Technology Advancement, UCLA, Samueli School of Engineering. He serves on the Board of Directors of Alpha Logic and a non-profit humanitarian organization Baja Christian Ministries.
