Corteva Agriscience Aims to Strengthen Workforce, Advance Future of Farming Via BVU Strategic Collaboration

Collaboration allows for employees of Corteva Agriscience, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus, and more.

Corteva Agriscience and Buena Vista University (BVU) have formed a Strategic Collaboration, joining forces to continue to serve people and their communities.

This collaboration allows for employees of Corteva Agriscience, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.

BVU professors and staff are also available for training programs, workshops, and more should officials with Corteva Agriscience seek those services and expertise.

“A Strategic Collaboration with BVU is a great opportunity for our employees as we can offer them and their family members savings on tuition as they advance their education,” says Corteva Agriscience Global Academic Relations Leader Ronda Hamm. “Corteva Agriscience enjoys a variety of relationships with a number of institutions of higher learning, but the strategic collaboration with BVU is the first of its kind for us. We are very excited to see the impact of this collaboration.”

Corteva Agriscience is a global leader tracing its origin to Dow, DuPont, and Pioneer. Corteva and its over 20,000 employees with business in more than 120 countries around the world focus on three primary tenets: crop protection, seeds, and digital agriculture. Corteva Agriscience professionals work with producers across the world to improve sustainability, innovation, inclusion and diversity, advancing the future of farming while enriching lives and celebrating women in agriculture.

“I’m the first of two generations in my family to attend BVU, and it’s been a great fit for both of us,” says Kevin Willey, Corteva Agriscience Global Sales Effectiveness Leader. “For me, BVU provided a wonderful blend of classroom instruction and experiential learning, which helped set my career in motion. It’s great this new alignment and support provides financial support, but more importantly, it provides opportunities for families and students like my son, Tyler, who is currently enrolled, to take advantage of this unique and differentiated learning experience.”

“I always considered myself fortunate to maintain close relationships with the professors and the coaches who pushed me to be my best at BVU,” says Corteva Agriscience CPA and Finance Manager Steph Gronau. “I’ve advanced in a professional career that’s been incredibly rewarding for me and I have multiple mentors at BVU who’ve had a hand in any success I’ve enjoyed as a member of the Corteva Agriscience team.”

“At BVU, we are committed to serving communities not only in the Midwest but around the world,” says BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships Laura Todd. “We look forward to our collaboration with Corteva Agriscience and the many positive impacts it will have on Corteva employees, their family members, and the people they serve.”
