BVU, Windstar Lines Collaborate as Strategic Partners
Through a Strategic Partnership with Buena Vista University, Windstar Lines now offers educational benefits to its employees and their eligible family members.
Buena Vista University (BVU) and Windstar Lines have formed a Strategic Partnership, providing education benefits to the workforce serving Windstar Lines while strengthening the communities both entities serve.
This partnership allows for employees of Windstar Lines, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.

“A partnership with Buena Vista University represents a great opportunity for our employees, their family members, and the communities we serve,” says Windstar Lines Human Resources Manager Jennifer Grandgenett. “Through this Strategic Partnership, we are able to financially support our team members as they pursue opportunities to better themselves and strengthen Iowa’s workforce.”
Windstar Lines is a family-owned and operated charter bus company which was founded in 1995. The business, which has more than 375 employees, provides ground transportation services to or from anywhere in the continental United States and Canada and has locations in 11 U.S. cities, including Carroll, Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, and Dubuque in Iowa.
Focused on providing a safe environment and incredible customer service, Windstar Lines accommodates all of BVU’s athletic teams and the Iowa State University football team while traveling.
