BVU, New Hope Establish Strategic Partnership

New Hope seeks to further enrichen the lives of their employees through a Strategic Partnership with BVU. Through this partnership, New Hope employees and their family members can receive discounted tuition and other educational benefits from BVU.

Buena Vista University (BVU) and New Hope have established a Strategic Partnership to create opportunities and strengthen the communities both entities serve.

This partnership allows employees of New Hope, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Additionally, partner grant funding also lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.

BVU professors and staff are also available for training programs, workshops, and more should officials with New Hope seek those services and expertise.

“We take our mission of enriching the lives of people very seriously. Generally, we talk about enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities, but New Hope also recognizes that we need to enrich the lives of our New Hope team and family at the same time. Together, we rise.”

Steven Kopecky, New Hope Chief Executive Officer

“We are excited about this partnership with BVU and the opportunities for our New Hope employees and families moving forward,” says New Hope Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Steven Kopecky. “We take our mission of enriching the lives of people very seriously. Generally, we talk about enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities, but New Hope also recognizes that we need to enrich the lives of our New Hope team and family at the same time. Together, we rise.”

New Hope is based in Carroll and offers services across West-Central Iowa and beyond. Approximately 315 employees provide residential and vocational services in a variety of settings to adults with disabilities. Clients receive personalized programs based on their needs that enable them to live with purpose and self-fulfillment.

“New Hope enjoys partnerships with many organizations throughout the area, and we are excited to add BVU as a New Hope partner for future success,” says Kopecky. “Particularly in this day and age, working together and fostering these partnerships is pivotal for the success of our business and the success of our New Hope family.”

“It’s very exciting and encouraging to hear that New Hope and BVU are partnering to offer this opportunity to New Hope employees,” says New Hope Interim Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager Danielle (Goetzinger) Tibben, a 2010 BVU graduate. “The education and experiences I encountered while earning my degree from BVU have had such an impact on not only my career, but, for me, as a person.”

BVU has long enjoyed strong educational ties in and around Carroll, home to Des Moines Area Community College, a campus that has collaborated with BVU for many years. Students enrolled in a program through DMACC can seamlessly transfer their credits toward their bachelor’s degree at BVU. Students receive personalized support including admissions and enrollment counseling, and academic advising through BVU’s online and hybrid undergraduate programs.

“A partnership with New Hope, an organization that aims to uplift others, provides opportunities to strengthen not only New Hope’s employees and their family members but our community as well,” says BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships Laura Todd. “We look forward to our partnership with New Hope and the opportunities we are helping to create for many individuals.”
