BVU, Kingsley-Pierson Community School District Enter Strategic Partnership
Through a Strategic Partnership with BVU, Kingsley-Pierson Community School District now offers tuition discounts to employees and their families.
Buena Vista University (BVU) and the Kingsley-Pierson Community School District (KPCSD) have formed a Strategic Partnership to strengthen communities and those who serve students.
This partnership builds opportunities for employees of KPCSD, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Additionally, partner grant funding lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.
BVU professors and staff are also available for training programs, workshops, and more should officials with KPCSD seek those services and expertise.

“This partnership represents a great opportunity for staff and families of staff to help them with their postsecondary education,” says KPCSD Superintendent Scott Bailey, a 1992 BVU graduate. “Being able to provide this benefit can help create opportunities for individuals and impact our community.”
KPCSD is an Iowa Class 1A school that serves approximately 440 students and has 65 employees. The district’s Kingsley building hosts students in grades K-4 and the high school, while the school facility in Pierson is home to Kingsley-Pierson Middle School. The district educates students from Plymouth, Woodbury, and Cherokee counties.
“Building our communities starts with supporting education,” says Laura Todd, BVU Assistant Director of Strategic Partnerships. “BVU is proud to partner with KPCSD to continue to invest in education and our communities.”
