BVU Grad Receives Creativity in Service to All Iowans Award

Kleespies, the county youth educator for ISU Extension and Outreach of Buena Vista County, has dedicated her time to introducing underrepresented youth to 4-H and STEM.

Nichol (Hargrave) Kleespies SL’96 was one of five Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach professionals selected to receive the 2018 Creativity in Service to All Iowans Award in March.  

The purpose of the award is to recognize creative programming efforts that educate Iowa’s rapidly-changing and complex demographics using a cooperative, interdisciplinary approach. The award is presented each year at the ISU Extension and Outreach Conference.

Over the past several years, Kleespies, who is the county youth educator for ISU Extension and Outreach of Buena Vista County, has dedicated her time to introducing underrepresented youth to 4-H and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs around northwest Iowa.
