BVU, Glenwood Community School District Forge a Strategic Partnership

A partnership between Buena Vista University and Glenwood Community School District will provide innovative opportunities and educational benefits to employees and their eligible family members.

Buena Vista University (BVU) and the Glenwood Community School District (Glenwood CSD) have formed a Strategic Partnership that works to strengthen employees of the district as well as their communities.

This partnership allows for employees of Glenwood CSD, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.

BVU professors and staff are also available for training programs, workshops, and more should officials with Glenwood CSD seek those services and expertise.

“We want to provide opportunities that are innovative and can help remove barriers for people, allowing them to grow within their profession.”

Dr. Chad Lang, Glenwood CSD Director of School Improvement & Human Resources

“A partnership with BVU will provide our district with a win-win situation and will open opportunities for our employees to grow,” says Glenwood CSD Superintendent Devin Embray. “This partnership grant will enable individuals to earn their degree without having to leave the community or disrupt their career.”

The district has more than 360 employees serving approximately 2,000 students in grades PK-12. Glenwood CSD is comprised of two elementary schools, a middle school, a high school, an alternative learning center, and a daycare. The district serves four communities, including: Glenwood, Mineola, Silver City, and Pacific Junction.

“We want to provide opportunities that are innovative and can help remove barriers for people, allowing them to grow within their profession,” says Glenwood CSD Director of School Improvement & Human Resources Dr. Chad Lang.

“BVU is proud to partner with Glenwood CSD, a district dedicated to uplifting communities through education,” says BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships Laura Todd. “We look forward to offering educational benefits to Glenwood CSD employees and their eligible family members.”
