BVU, East Union Community School District join in Strategic Partnership
Through a partnership with Buena Vista University, the East Union Community School District offers additional opportunities and educational benefits for its employees and their eligible family members.
Buena Vista University (BVU) and the East Union Community School District (East Union CSD) have joined ties as Strategic Partners to invest in those who serve students.
This partnership allows for employees of East Union CSD, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.
BVU professors and staff are also available for training programs, workshops, and more should officials with East Union CSD seek those services and expertise.
“We are grateful to partner with the East Union Community School District and provide benefits to its employees and their eligible family members.”
Laura Todd, BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships
“Partnering with BVU is a great opportunity and will provide our employees as well as their family members greater access to higher education,” says East Union CSD Superintendent Tim Kuehl, a BVU graduate. “We are excited to support individuals as they pursue opportunities to strengthen their skills and better serve the community.”
More than 90 employees at East Union CSD serve approximately 530 students in grades PK-12. The district serves the communities of Afton, Arispe, Lorimor, Shannon City, and Thayer.
“We are grateful to partner with the East Union Community School District and provide benefits to its employees and their eligible family members,” says BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships Laura Todd. “With BVU’s Creston office located near the district, individuals can work toward their degree without leaving their community.”
