BVU Announces More Affordable Graduate Teacher Education Programs
In addition to lowering tuition costs, BVU redesigned its Master of Education programs with updated, relevant, applicable, and teacher-friendly opportunities.
Last month, Buena Vista University announced that the Board of Trustees recently approved a tuition rate of $250 per credit hour for its Master of Education programs – making them the most affordable in Iowa.
Programs include:
- Teacher leadership, curriculum & instruction
- Special education (exceptional student services and instruction)
- Graduate education endorsements
“We are committed to making the education in Iowa affordable and top-notch, which means beginning with preparing the best teachers,” said Dr. Lucas DeWitt, assistant professor of education and director of teacher leadership, curriculum & instruction and special education graduate programs. “We know that for schools to improve, quality professional development must be the cornerstone of these efforts.”
In addition to lowering tuition costs, BVU redesigned its Master of Education programs with updated, relevant, applicable, and teacher-friendly opportunities. The teacher leadership, curriculum & instruction and special education master’s degrees are offered fully online and each class is provided in 8-week durations, helping teachers earn certifications in these areas in less than a year. A master’s degree may be completed in as little as two years.
