BVTV Tonight! Wraps Up Premiere Season

The show, which includes a cast and crew of approximately 20 BVU students, was developed to be similar in format to popular late night talk shows such as "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

On May 8, Buena Vista University students gathered to shoot the season finale of “BVTV Tonight!”

The show, which includes a cast and crew of approximately 20 BVU students, was developed to be similar in format to popular late night talk shows such as “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

“The show came to be because my staff and I wanted to take on something a bit more ambitious,” said Morgan McGrew, who is the director and co-producer of the show, as well as BVTV’s studio manager.

Though the show’s premiere season had a total of four episodes, there will be eight episodes per academic year (four episodes per semester) moving forward. Each episode includes a theme, two guests, and two skits.

“Being BVTV’s studio manager has been an incredible experience,” added McGrew, a senior digital media major from Ankeny who plans to pursue a job in marketing or communications after graduating from BVU later this month. “I've been able to do everything creative. Social media, video work, pre-production, all of it. There are so many possibilities.”

The season finale of “BVTV Tonight!” airs Thursday, May 17 at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on BVTV’s YouTube channel.
