Buena Vista University crowned its 2015 Homecoming king and queen: Bobby Ivey, a senior biology major from Storm Lake, and Bonnie Keller, a senior biology major from Sioux City.

BVU is saddened by the recent death of 2015 graduate, Brett Heitkamp, who passed away on Sunday, Oct. 4. He received a bachelor's degree in management and was a three-time letter winner for the BVU men's basketball team.

A group of BVU professors embarked on a journey to Vietnam and Cambodia as part of the McCorkle Fellowship program. They found the area to be unexpectedly beautiful and were impacted by each country's lengthy and often troubled history.

BVU has announced that Kit Munden and Chris Rasmussen will be the co-chairs for its 2015-2016 Community Campaign. Contributions to the campaign help provide resources for scholarships and development of innovative academic programs.

Four Buena Vista University students participated in the annual Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute. They joined young entrepreneurs from other schools for the six-day academic experience and earned academic credit.

From the time he set foot on the Buena Vista campus, Wayne Forbes, Class of 1947, had an immediate connection with the university that would span his entire life.

Eleven Buena Vista University students and the BVU College Republicans were honored at the 2015 Governor's Volunteer Award ceremonies held in June on the BVU campus. Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds attended the event.
