Peggy Bates

Peggy Bates has been a valued staff member at Buena Vista University since 2006, and she currently serves as the Associate Director of Student Success for the Online Programs.

Bates graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in business marketing. Peggy has a deep passion for supporting students; she is committed to helping each student navigate their academic journey and reach their educational goals. She is with her students from application to graduation–helping them every step of the way. “I do anything I can to help make things a little easier for our students. I love to help support them and be a little cheerleader for them along the way.”

Bates received the Education for Service award in 2015, which shows that she exemplifies BVU’s motto through her work. When Bates is not at BVU helping students, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially their seven grandchildren. She also loves working on puzzles, spending time outside, or being anywhere near the water.
