Emily Hamerlinck

Emily Hamerlinck graduated from BVU in December 2012 and started working at BVU as an advisor at the Emmetsburg and Estherville locations in April of 2013. In 2015, she transitioned to advising students in the Education Program.  

“I was a site student myself.  I am a single mom and worked full-time while working on my degree.  I feel that my educational journey helps me relate to the students I work with. It took me some time to realize what I wanted to be when I grew up.  I changed my major and institutions before choosing to complete my degree with BV.” 

Hamerlinck has a lot of educators in her life including her grandma (retired), mom (a 1990 BVU grad), cousins, uncle, and friends.  She understands what it is like for students to balance life with schoolwork.  “I enjoy working with students as they go through our education program. It’s so exciting to hear about their student teaching experience and then when they obtain their first teaching position.”
