Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Psychology from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana in 2003 and her Master of Social Work from the University of Iowa, Iowa City in 2005. She is licensed in the state of South Dakota as a Certified Social Worker. She has held social work licenses in three states-Indiana, Florida, and South Dakota.
Stephanie began her career in social work at a Community Mental Health Center in Indiana, providing outpatient therapy for youth and families. She then relocated to Florida, where she conducted individual, group, and family therapy sessions in a Specialized Therapeutic Group Home for Adolescents. Stephanie then worked as a medical social worker at Hospice, coordinating care and providing support services to patients and their families. Stephanie taught undergraduate Social Work and Human Services courses in higher education for ten years, culminating in accepting a position with Buena Vista University as an Assistant Professor of Social Work and Human Services.
