Spiritual Life
Faith and spiritual practice is an important part of life for many students at Buena Vista University. The University offers ongoing support, information, and programming related to spirituality and religion. Student Success, along with the Chaplain and Center for Diversity and Inclusion, provide opportunities to connect with others from a range of traditions.

BVU Spiritual Life Events
What is Chapel?
Our chapel service is a non-denominational Christian service held every Thursday at 11 a.m. It is a time where students, staff, and faculty members can come and share in a time of worship to God. A weekly sermon is given by University Chaplain Melanie Hauser, or a BVU student, to help cultivate and tend to everyone's faith and relationship with and/or toward God.
We believe that everyone's spiritual relationship is important and we are always looking to involve people in our events and services! Everyone is also welcome to share in a time of worship, praise, prayer, sharing of the Word and spiritual discernment in an ecumenical environment. This time is a privilege for us to take a few moments away from our busy schedules and experience God in a new, energetic, and exciting way.
If anyone is interested in assisting with praise and worship with your vocal or instrumental talents, or offering a message, drama or skit, please contact chaplain Melanie Hauser at hauser2@bvu.edu. Hope to see you there!
