Dr. Jeremy Horpedahl, assistant professor of economics, was featured in an interview with Omaha Public Radio, KIOS, on Monday, Sept. 22 about his research regarding the impact of tax incentives on Nebraska taxpayers.
Horpedahl said in the interview that if certain privilege tax incentives were removed, and the tax rate was lowered across-the-board, it could save Nebraska families an average of $3,200, according to the KIOS website.
These findings are part of a study that Horpedahl conducted on behalf of George Mason's Mercatus Center.
