BVU, Pleasantville Schools Align Through Strategic Partnership
Through a collaboration with Buena Vista University, the Pleasantville Community School District broadens educational opportunities for employees and their eligible family members.
Buena Vista University (BVU) and the Pleasantville Community School District have joined forces as Strategic Partners to strengthen their communities and the people they serve.
This partnership allows for employees of the Pleasantville Community School District, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost of education while enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost per credit hour for students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program.

“We are excited to offer such a great new benefit to our staff,” says Pleasantville Community School District Superintendent Tony Aylsworth. “Many staff members have continued their education for their own benefit, and we are pleased to offer this partnership to increase their educational opportunities at an affordable cost.”
The Pleasantville Community School District, located 25 miles southeast of Des Moines, provides educational opportunities for 775 students in grades P-12 at two buildings all on one campus. The school district, which employs 130, boasts a rich tradition of strong academic programs and varied opportunities for students, enjoying strong support and trust from the community, parents, and patrons.
