BVU, NEW Cooperative Join in Strategic Partnership

Through a collaboration with Buena Vista University, NEW Cooperative offers educational benefits to its employees and their eligible family members.

Buena Vista University (BVU) and NEW Cooperative have entered a Strategic Partnership that provides new opportunities that mutually benefit both organizations as they strive to strengthen the communities they serve.

This partnership allows the employees of NEW Cooperative, as well as eligible family members of full-time employees, to receive grant funding to lower the overall cost per credit hour while enrolled in BVU’s convenient online undergraduate programs or the organizational leadership graduate program. Partner grant funding also lowers the cost of education for students enrolled in classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus.

Headquartered in Fort Dodge, NEW Cooperative is a leading agriculture retailer focused on being an innovative and efficient provider of agricultural markets and services to over 28,000 customers and 12,000 members throughout its 82 communities. The partnership with BVU expands educational opportunities for NEW Cooperative employees and their families by making high-quality degree programs more affordable and accessible, supporting personal advancement and the continued growth of Iowa’s agricultural industry.

“While attending BVU, I had the privilege of learning from professors who knew me by name and truly cared about my success. Many of them remain a part of my life today,” says NEW Cooperative Administrative Consultant Holly Jo Reicks, a 2014 BVU graduate with a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications. “BVU provided valuable hands-on opportunities and aided in placement of internships that helped me navigate and define my career path, which has led me to where I am today at NEW Cooperative.”

“Buena Vista University is proud to partner with NEW Cooperative through our Strategic Partnerships initiative. As a leader in agriculture and a vital contributor to Iowa’s economy, NEW Cooperative shares our commitment to education, innovation, and community development,” says BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships Laura Todd. “Together, we are creating impactful opportunities for professional growth and academic achievement that benefit both individuals and the industries they serve.”
