BVU Hosts Activities for Special Olympics Athletes

On the annual Unified Sports Day, Special Olympics Iowa athletes participated in a variety of fun activities with BVU coaches, staff, faculty, and students.

Buena Vista University hosted its annual Unified Sports Day, in partnership with Special Olympics Iowa, on Thursday, Nov. 7 in Lamberti Recreation Center.

Special Olympics Iowa athletes participated in a variety of fun activities with BVU coaches, staff, faculty, and students. Activities included bowling, volleyball, tee ball, and field hockey. The activity stations were led by BVU students.

Dedicated to promoting social inclusion through sports training and competition experiences, Special Olympics Unified Sports creates an opportunity for people without intellectual disabilities to take part in activities alongside athletes with intellectual disabilities.
