Buena Vista University Students Accepted to 2023 Iowa Collegiate Honor Band
BVU band members participated in the 28th Annual Iowa Collegiate Honor Band.
Five Buena Vista University band members, including Evan Pearce, Daniel Zeman, Ashley Stueven, Megan Shannahan, and Cameron Germain were selected to participate in the 28th Annual Iowa Collegiate Honor Band.
The two-day event took place on Nov. 17-18 at Josephine Tope Auditorium at Nevada High School in Nevada, Iowa. On Friday, participants engaged in chair placement auditions and rehearsal. The BVU students showcased their talents alongside peers from various Iowa colleges and universities during the concert held on Saturday.
This year's guest conductor for the Iowa Collegiate Honor Band was Captain Christina A. Muncey, the commander of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, and the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
This is the 28th year of the Iowa Collegiate Honor Band. Students are selected from among those nominated by directors from colleges and universities throughout the state. They represent some of the finest instrumentalists in Iowa.
