Health and Wellness

With all you’re going to do at BVU, we want to make sure you’re healthy in every sense of the word. From physical fitness and well-being to emotional and spiritual strength, BVU has you covered.

Staying fit is the first way to sustain your health through college. It’ll help balance those late night pizza orders and study sessions. The Lamberti Recreation Center, Frichter Fitness Center and Finkbine Natatorium (swimming pool) and the Petersen Wellness Room are all available spaces ready to meet your physical fitness needs. 

When you’re feeling under the weather, the full-time staff in the Health Services & Wellness department can provide a nursing assessment and treatment that may include providing over-the-counter medications and help with minor injuries. The nursing staff is able to help with most if not all your health and wellness concerns.  They can also refer you to appropriate health care professionals when further treatment is needed.

The college years can be tough. It’s the first time away from home for many, and there can be a lot of social and emotional stressors involved. BVU resources for any of your concerns include Ken Meissner, Director of Spiritual Life; and Mandy Boothby, Director of Counseling Services.  These counselors are available to help you through times of stress or personal crisis and are ready to help with everything from relationship issues to grief to test anxiety.
