The Buena Vista University community gathered together for the 28th Annual All-Campus Christmas Dinner. Students were served a holiday meal by members of the University faculty, staff, and administration.

The Buena Vista University Concert Band, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Jerry Bertrand, will present its annual holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 3 p.m. in Schaller Memorial Chapel

Buena Vista University students and organizations were recognized in the College Media Association's Organizational Pinnacle Awards. The Pinnacle Awards honor the best student media from colleges and universities across the nation.

BVU hosted a high-school based, hands-on, art event, "I Do Art" in November. The workshops, hosted by art, graphic design, and digital media seniors, were part of their capstone Senior Seminar and Media Project.

Former Buena Vista head men's basketball coach Jeff Spielman passed away suddenly on Nov. 19 at the age of 61. Spielman guided the Beavers from the start of the 1983-84 season until the end of the 1992-1993 campaign.

Three Buena Vista University band members have been selected to participate in the 21st Annual Iowa Collegiate Honor Band. This year marks BVU's 16th year of students participating in the honor band.

Beaver alumni helped celebrate the wedding of Brittany Gosch SL'08 and Lee Schoof in Storm Lake on June 14. Brittany and some of her fellow Beaver grads leapt for joy in front of Victory Arch.

Buena Vista University Theatre presented "Picnic" by William Inge in November. The play is set on Labor Day weekend in the joint backyards of two middle-aged widows in a small Kansas town.

Three Buena Vista University students presented at the Midwest Service Leaders Conference. Their presentation focused on the BV Buddies program, the building of reciprocal relationships and its impact on mentors and mentees.

Buena Vista University announces that Dr. David Evans will be leaving his position as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty effective Jan. 1, 2015, to accept a position at Southern Vermont College.

The play by William Inge will be performed Nov. 5-8 in Anderson Auditorium. "Picnic" is a realistic examination of unfilled dreams and the conditions faced by many women in the 1950s.

Buena Vista University will host the Vienna Boys' Choir on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Schaller Chapel on the BVU campus as part of its Academic and Cultural Event Series. The performance is free and open to the public to attend.

Buena Vista University's School of Science has received a $2.7 million endowment from Harry and Molly Stine, to support student and faculty research and expand other high-impact learning opportunities.
