Alyssa Burns

• Academic Recruitment Specialist: School of Liberal Arts

Alyssa is a graduate of Cornell College, where she graduated in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in American history. During her time in Mount Vernon, she was involved in the Women’s Lacrosse Team, managed the Football team, and was a member of the Sorority Phi Omega.

Outside of the classroom, Alyssa gained hands-on experience with two internships with the Kansas Aviation Museum, where she had the opportunity to do hands-on research and create an exhibition. She also learned the ins and out of college athletics through an internship with Cornell’s athletic director. With two strong passions for different pathways, Alyssa can help students understand that is okay to try new things out and that everything is a chance to learn. 

Eager to gain new experience, Alyssa is excited to be joining the Admissions Team at Buena Vista University to build connections and guide students to accomplish their professional and personal dreams.
