Dr. Beckwith specializes in how the brain underlies different behaviors and thought processes. He is interested in how prefrontal areas of the brain contribute to decision making and self-control. Moreover, his research focuses on how these factors intersect with drug and alcohol abuse using a variety of models and research paradigms, and he maintains an active research mission that has a high degree of student involvement.
