Dr. Kathleen Ruscitto is a Counselor Educator and a Licensed Professional Counselor with more then 15 years of experience in behavioral health. She has spent most of her time working in rural communities. She has a strong grounding in humanistic perspectives that upholds the potential of each individual unique path to grow and move forward, and she strives to facilitate this growth in both students and clients through providing environments in which meaningful, self-directed learning can flourish.
Dr. Ruscitto’s research interests include recovery and wellness practices for mental health and substance use disorders, multicultural topics, and supervision. Dr. Ruscitto advocates at the individual and community levels for best practices that support and improve behavioral health care. She is an active member of counseling organizations including the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the Association for Humanistic Counseling (AHC).
