Dr. Joel Baldomir

Dr. Baldomir is a leadership scholar and educator with over 20 years of experience in higher education within the New York area. His expertise lies in organizational leadership and communication, with a research focus on leadership identity development, servant leadership, and inclusive leadership practices. He has held various leadership positions within not-for-profit organizations, most recently serving as Faculty Director of Professional Studies and chair of university assessment at Marist University.

He has also contributed to the broader higher education community through service on regional accrediting teams, advisory boards, and editorial teams for peer-reviewed publications. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Baldomir gained diverse professional experience as a playwright, news writer, market research professional, and customer service specialist.

Dr. Baldomir’s diverse professional background informs his holistic and student-centered approach to education. Recognizing the unique experiences, interests, and needs each student brings to the learning environment, he is committed to fostering supportive and engaging classrooms that empower students to achieve their full potential. He was particularly drawn to Buena Vista University because of its history of “education for service.”
