This year marked BVU's ninth annual Celebrating Scholarships event, where students come together with their scholarship benefactors to say "thank you" in person.

Scholarships enable BVU students to attend the University, accomplish their goals, and experience a variety of transformative opportunities, and those funds could not exist without BVU's generous donors.

Throughout Buena Vista's history, a variety of individuals have used their insights, knowledge, and perspectives to contribute to the success of the University. Many names come to mind, including the last name Pierce.

Buena Vista University Graduate & Professional Studies is launching a Bachelor of Applied Science degree with a major in applied management. The degree is specifically designed for those holding an Associate of Applied Science degree.

Buena Vista University held its annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Dinner on May 23 to recognize and award achievements for employees of the university.

Dr. John Madsen, associate professor emeritus of business and corporate communication, passed away at his home in Rock Island, Illinois. He was one of the most respected faculty members during his tenure at BVU.

When he graduated in May, Michael Meisheid knew that his triple-major in business management, finance and banking, and economics fully prepared him to begin his career at United Fire Group in Cedar Rapids.

Jamii Claiborne, associate professor of digital media, has been named the 28th recipient of the George Wythe Award, BVU's highest honor for excellence in teaching. She has been a faculty member since 2001.
