The evening offered a festive environment for the students and those serving the meal, with laughter and a variety of conversations taking place during the meal of roast turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing and green beans.

Special Olympics Iowa athletes participated in a variety of activities with BVU coaches, staff, faculty, and students. Activities included bowling, ladder golf, bean bag toss, volleyball, soccer, pickleball, and more.

The scholarships were awarded on the students' overall merit, as well as their high school transcripts and GPA, ACT scores, physical fitness, and leadership potential.
