Iowa Legislative leaders honored Susan Cameron Daemen '82 with induction to Pioneer Lawmakers' Association of Iowa. The Buena Vista grad shares the unique distinction with her father, Bill Hutchins, who served in the Iowa Legislature for 20 years.

BVU senior Gerald Quinlan has traveled to and studied in Costa Rica, Spain, and Australia during an undergraduate experience marked by multiple majors, learning opportunities, and scholarships. The student-teacher believes fully in his BVU professors and the power of philanthropy.

Dr. Bill Feis transcribed 108 rare, handwritten letters from Civil War soldiers, handed down and preserved for three generations. These letters offer sketches of battlefields and unique look into the historic conflict.

Wava Jarr spent spring break working with Outreach 360, a program in the Dominican Republic. She joined 11 BVU representatives on the island in the Caribbean Sea as part of the University’s traditional Alternative Week of Offsite Learning.

The business and accounting major was one of 10 ROTC members in Iowa to receive the Governor’s Cup ROTC Award for outstanding achievement. He followed his father's footsteps in military service.

Four Buena Vista University seniors will say their goodbye to the theatre department with their involvement in “Monty Python’s Spamalot" on the stage of Schaller Memorial Chapel.

Thirty-six student works were cited for excellence in efforts ranging from radio to TV to feature writing, podcasts, politics and more. BVU students earned the most points in 2018 and will receive a first-place plaque in the fall convention in Atlanta.

The custom tricycle, stocked with up to 300 children’s books, will visit parks and playground locations across the community in the spring and fall seasons. Each stop will include personalized interaction, reading aloud, and the opportunity for children to select a book to take home.

At the event, agriculture industry professionals shared their expertise on campus. High school students participated in hands-on learning opportunities during breakout sessions in animal science, soil health, ag business, and more.

As five presidential candidates and 800 guests made their way to Schaller Memorial Chapel for the Heartland Forum, several BVU students viewed, volunteered or reported on the event.

For the first time, Buena Vista University’s student-run television station, BVTV, is producing a longtime Northwest Iowa high school academic competition. Episodes will air on KCAU Channel 9 in Sioux City.
