Twenty-one BVU students will be honored on campus at the 2013 Governor's Volunteer Award ceremonies. Overall 100 individuals and organizations from northwest Iowa are to receive awards at the event.

Following a stellar finish at Ironman Texas last weekend, Dr. Matt Hanson has qualified to race as an elite athlete. He shaved 46 minutes off his personal record and has once again qualified for the Ironman World Championship.

A new program at BVU enables area teachers to check out a select number of artifacts from the Keith Carter Middle Eastern Collection. The collection includes over 200 artifacts from the Middle East and around the world.

The recent "One Day without Shoes" event on the Buena Vista University campus generated over $790 from t-shirt sales and other donations which is being presented to two non-profit organizations.

The "BV Buddies" program at BVU recently received a grant of $1,500 from Alliant Energy. About 50 students participated in BV Buddies this academic year, serving as mentors in the Teammates program at the Storm Lake Middle School and High School.
