BVU, UnityPoint Health Partner to Expand Education Benefits to More Than 33,000 Healthcare Workers

Through BVU Strategic Partnerships, businesses, like UnityPoint Health, are able to offer educational benefits to their employees. These mutually beneficial partnerships help strengthen organizations and their communities.

Buena Vista University and UnityPoint Health are teaming up to extend educational benefits to more than 33,000 UnityPoint Health team members. UnityPoint Health team members throughout the system’s three-state footprint can now access grants and tuition discounts from Buena Vista University to continue their education. Spouse/domestic partners and dependents of full-time team members are also eligible.

“Our team members do so much for our patients and our communities, every day. They are truly extraordinary,” said Rumame Samuels Bryant, executive director of total rewards at UnityPoint Health. “We’re grateful to add this exciting addition to our current tuition-assistance program. We hope this helps even more team members take the next step in their educational journey.”

“BVU’s mission in this initiative mirrors the goals and objectives of UnityPoint Health in that both organizations are working together, doing all they can to strengthen our students, their families, and, ultimately, the communities they serve.”

Katie Smith, BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships

BVU Strategic Partnerships aim to strengthen organizations by making grant funding available to the employees of partner organizations who take BVU classes. Grants are available for those who take classes at BVU’s Storm Lake campus, while discounts per credit hour in the form of BVU grant are offered to students enrolled in BVU’s convenient online/hybrid undergraduate programs or the Organizational Leadership graduate program.

Grants are available to spouses/domestic partners and dependents (age 26 and below) of UnityPoint Health full-time team members.

“We’re extremely excited to be working with UnityPoint Health as a new Strategic Partner with BVU,” says Katie Smith, BVU Director of Strategic Partnerships. “BVU’s mission in this initiative mirrors the goals and objectives of UnityPoint Health in that both organizations are working together, doing all they can to strengthen our students, their families, and, ultimately, the communities they serve.”
