Some events aren't just on the calendar — they're woven into the fabric of who we are. These are the traditions every Beaver knows by heart.
Victory Arch
Your BVU journey begins and ends at the Victory Arch. Students walk through the Arch during Convocation to begin their college experience and cross through it again at Commencement as BVU graduates.
Homecoming
Celebrate what it means to be a Beaver with a week of campus activities, traditions, athletics, and opportunities to connect with students, alumni, and the BVU community.
Buenafication Day
Once a year, the entire BVU community — students, faculty, staff, and alumni — comes together for a campus-wide day of service. Volunteer projects span Storm Lake and beyond, beautifying the community and strengthening the bond between campus and town.
All-Campus Christmas Dinner
Each December, students, faculty, and staff come together for a holiday meal and one of BVU’s most beloved traditions. It’s a chance to celebrate the season with the people who make campus feel like home.
America’s Future Lecture Series
Reimagined in Fall 2026 from BVU’s long-standing American Heritage Lecture Series, America’s Future brings nationally recognized thought leaders to campus for forward-looking conversations about technology and its impact on American life.
