Buena Vista University students and faculty invited The Today Show to Storm Lake to set a lawn golf record during the program's "Rokerthon 3 event." BVU was the only college in Iowa featured in the segment.

BVU participants worked with the Center for Ethical Living and Social Justice Renewal and spent the week working with a variety of causes and organizations.

BVU students worked with the Panorama Service Expedition and immersed themselves in the area's culture and worked on a farm alongside locals helping prepare grounds for planting coffee trees.

BVU participants volunteered with the Cheyenne River Youth Project and helped with the organization's Passion for Fashion Dress Drive, a program that accepts dress and accessory donations so area youth are able to attend prom.

This year's AWOL program took BVU students to North Carolina, South Dakota, New Orleans and Nicaragua, where they performed service at a variety of organizations.

BVU participants spent spring break volunteering at Possumwood Acres, a non-profit wildlife sanctuary that specializes in the rehabilitation, care and treatment of injured animals.

The Buena Vista University Concert Choir was invited to perform a spotlight debut performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City after a selection process by Manhattan Concert Productions.

Jason Ehrhardt SL'14 married Emily Droessler in Cedar Rapids on March 25. Joining them in celebration were Jason's BVU tennis teammates and other fellow alumni.

Anne Motsenbocker, president of JP Morgan Chase's south middle-market banking, and granddaughter of the late Drs. Paul and Vivian McCorkle, will address the graduating Class of 2017.

The recipient of the award, which was endowed by the late Paul and Vivian McCorkle, will receive a sabbatical and a $30,000 stipend for faculty development.

Bob Willadsen died on March 13, 2017. As a student at Buena Vista College, Bob participated in football and track and would later serve as an assistant football coach. He was inducted into the athletics Hall of Fame in 1972.
