After their wedding in Oregon, Arick and Kathryn Loew celebrated by riding their bikes together from the Pacific Coast back to Iowa... just in time to cross the state during RAGBRAI.

The new president and his family led a group from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake's Independence Day parade.

On July 1, BVU welcomed nine new members to the National Alumni Association Board of Directors. They will offer advice, volunteer service and financial support to the University.

Dr. Merchant and his wife, Carrie, were welcomed to Buena Vista University by the campus community.

The grant will be used to support BV Buddies, a mentoring program that partners BVU students with Storm Lake middle school youth.

As a computer science major, Colin Hansen spent last summer in a 10-week program at CUNY's College of Staten Island.

The George Wythe Award is BVU's highest honor for excellence in teaching and includes a $30,000 stipend and a sabbatical for the recipient to pursue professional development and/or research.

Buena Vista University has begun to raise philanthropic resources in an effort to renovate the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business/Siebens Forum and transform it into a true, modern student center.

Faculty and staff were the recipients of several awards, including Education for Service, Student Senate Faculty Member of the Year, and Student Senate Staff Member of the Year, among others.

The seniors' plan is to help create a space where students can relax and de-stress for many years to come.

Four new members, and one team, will be enshrined into the Buena Vista University Athletic Hall of Fame this fall during halftime ceremonies of the BVU and Central College football game on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 in J. Leslie Rollins Stadium. Kickoff against the Dutch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Order of Cumberland and Tollefson was established in 1994 and is reserved for retiring faculty members who have given exceptional service to the University.

Andre Wagner, Class of 2010, has but an instant to capture his subjects in action. A certain emotion or reaction at just the right time and place. But not only does he use his artistic skill to create an image; he also uses his eye for reading people and situations, stemming from his lifelong dedication and empathy toward others.

Seven hundred fifty-one students received their degrees from Buena Vista University during commencement ceremonies on May 27. Congratulations to the Class of 2017!
