Getting Involved

Whether your thing is athletics, activism, intramurals, leadership, service, spirituality or anything in between, at Buena Vista University you'll discover something that excites you.

Not everything about college should be focused on preparing for a career. A comfortable atmosphere with loads of ways to explore new interests and existing passions is equally important.

Whichever activities you choose, getting involved at BVU will foster a sense of pride and success. Giving your time, your skills, and yourself can be just as rewarding as academic success. These are valuable experiences, experiences that enhance what you take from the classroom - experiences you will cherish for a lifetime.

Student Organizations

Student organizations reign at BVU. Three out of every four students are involved in at least one. That’s not too surprising when you look at the dozens of organizations available, ranging from the Society of Collegiate Journalists, BVU Marketing Association and Student Senate, to Outdoor Adventure Club, Cheerleading, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club and African American Student Association. If you're interested in something that's not yet a club, create it!

Intramurals and Recreation

Stay active, meet friends and explore

Buena Vista University offers an incredible array of recreation activities for all students on campus. Borrow a canoe or paddle boat from our Recreation Services house, right on the lake! Compete in dozens of intramural sports all year long. Go on trips with your fellow students — camping, fishing, skiing, and more. There is always something fun to do!
