Jan. 10, 2013

Jason Titcomb (second from left) shows students where to strike a stone during a hands-on experience in flintknapping, the shaping of stone to manufacture tools. Titcomb, archaeologist at the Sanford Museum in Cherokee, is teaching Intro to Archaeology during BVU's January Interim. In the class, students are learning archaeological method and theory, with a focus on Iowa's cultural heritage and the impact of maize agriculture in the Midwest.
