2nd year at BVU
Jon Millea begins his second season as a member of the Beaver coaching staff in 2013-14.
Millea returned to his alma mater a season ago and served as the team's top assistant, helping to guide the team to its eighth Iowa Conference regular season championship in the last 17 seasons.
A 2009 graduate of BVU, Millea served as an assistant men's basketball coach in 2011-12 at Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D. Prior to that, he had served as an assistant men's basketball coach from 2009-11 at Southwest Minnesota State University, while working on his master of science degree in education – with an emphasis on sports leadership.
Millea, who is a Davenport, Iowa, native played four years under Van Haaften and was part of senior class which went 78-33 during that span, including a stellar 50-14 mark in Iowa Conference play. He averaged nearly 13 minutes per game off the bench as a senior, while shooting nearly 55 percent from the floor, as the Beavers finished 23-3 overall (15-1 IIAC) that year.
He graduated from Buena Vista with a bachelor of arts degree in Sports/Fitness Management with a minor in Coaching.
