Invest in Rural Iowa Scholarship
for Northwest Iowa Students
The Invest in Rural Iowa Scholarship awards fifteen future Beavers with a $5,000 per-year award for the next four years. This opportunity is offered to first-year Storm Lake campus students who hail from Northwest Iowa and demonstrate a strong commitment to their communities.
Buena Vista University is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders and doers, who will one day grow and build up our rural communities. The Invest in Rural Iowa Scholarship Program is one way we recognize and support those leaders.
Annual Scholarship
Fifteen awards of $5,000 each are awarded each year. Students may qualify for an award in that amount for up to four years of their BVU experience.
Academics & Involvement
Available to students with a strong academic record, and who have actively participated in school and their local community, through organization involvement and volunteering.
Support and Coaching
Students are supported by academic coaches, who assist with academic and non-academic issues and challenges, accessing school resources, and career preparation.
The Invest in Rural Iowa Scholarship is available to students in these Northwest Iowa counties.

The scholarship has been funded by an anonymous benefactor and is annually awarded to 15 incoming BVU students from Northwest Iowa.
