Dr. Joshua Merchant was named the 18th President of Buena Vista University by the Board of Trustees in 2017. BVU will officially inaugurate our new President during Inauguration events on May 4 and 5, 2018.

Buena Vista University will officially inaugurate our eighteenth President, Dr. Joshua D. Merchant with two days of events on May 4 and 5. The events will be a celebration of the President’s eminent purpose and his outlook on the novel relevance of the University.

President Merchant’s vast achievements and 20 years of experience in higher education have prepared him to take the helm and address Buena Vista University's opportunities and challenges. His core values are those that reside in the heart of our Storm Lake community, and he looks forward to pairing BVU’s transformational mission with its strong values.
