The educational studies major equips students with a theoretical background in education and practical application to better understand learners and learning. The curriculum combines courses in human development, learning and motivation, history and literacy, among others, to equip students with skills that can be applied to education positions across a wide variety of organizations.
The educational studies major will not lead to teacher certification. However, after completing the program, students may apply to the Board of Educational Examiners for a substitute authorization which allows an individual to substitute in any K-12 classroom.
