Students in the Teacher Education Program use Canvas for uploading Key Assignments, managing personal files, and creating electronic portfolios. A Canvas account is provided to all Buena Vista University students. Students are required to submit Key Assignments within Canvas to pass through checkpoints throughout the student’s teacher preparation program.

Canvas and the BVU Teacher Education Program

  • The Key Assignment Overview outlines all courses and field experiences that require a Canvas account.  Courses listed require a Key Assignment to be uploaded and scored.  Field Experiences currently consist of midterm and final evaluations related to student teaching experiences.

ePortfolios & Canvas

  • One of the added benefits of purchasing a Canvas account is the ability to create dynamic e-portfolios.  E-portfolios can showcase your skills as an educator by sharing documents, photos, and videos.   The following guide can provide step by step instructions to create your own e-portfolio and share with potential employers.
