Michael McCauley

• Regional Senior Admissions Counselor

Michael joined the Buena Vista University Admissions team in 2021. He is the BVU regional representative for the Greater Des Moines Region. He is excited to make an impact in the lives of prospective students and make sure BVU is the right fit for them.

Born and raised in Northwest Iowa, Michael has always been familiar with BVU, and the many transformational academic programs that are offered. Both his oldest sister and uncle graduated from BVU. He has high hopes of becoming a BVU graduate student himself. 

He received his bachelor’s degree in communications from Waldorf University. Michael then served as an AmeriCorps member at the University of Northern Iowa, where he assisted with a student non-profit club, wrote community engagement stories, and planned volunteer-related events.

“My passions to serve, empower, and transform the lives of students align well with what is already happening at BVU, on and off-campus!” Michael says. “When students come to BVU, they receive real-world experiences that they may not have gotten at a public university, which is crucial in the competitive job market of today.”

As an avid coffee lover, Michael is excited to meet with prospective students and their families at local Des Moines area coffee shops!
