- Admissions Counselor
Michael McCauley joined the Admissions team in 2021. He is excited to make an impact in the lives of prospective students and make sure BVU is the right fit for them. He is apart of both the social media and events efforts in the office as well.
Born and raised in Northwest Iowa, Michael has always been familiar with BVU and the outstanding academic programs as both his sister and uncle graduated from here. He even has high hopes to pursue his Master's and will then be a BVU grad himself.
A graduate of Waldorf University himself with a B.A. in Communications, Michael then served as an AmeriCorps member at the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI, he assisted with a student non-profit club, wrote community engagement highlight stories, and planned volunteer-related events. Michael has also served as a marketing and events intern at Arnolds Park Amusement Park in the Okoboji area, working on sales-related functions that helped him gain a greater understanding of how to commit to a call to action.
"My passions to serve, empower, and transform the lives of students align well with what is already happening at BVU, on and off campus!" Michael says. Michael goes on to say why he thinks BVU stands out apart from other universities, "When students come to BVU they receive real-world experience that they may not have gotten at a public university, which is crucial in the competive job market of today."
Outside the office, Michael really enjoys being outdoors and trying out different coffee shops in the area on the weekends; so, feel free to ask Michael to share a drink and chat at the Common Grounds coffee shop at BVU or at any of the multiple coffee shops off campus.
