Abby Emanuel, an admissions counselor, knows what it’s like to be a busy high school student. She participated in volleyball, basketball, and track during her prep days at North Bend Central High School in North Bend, Neb.
Emanuel keeps busy these days, working out to stay fit while keeping track of the Buena Vista University football team, as her fiancé, Darius Savage, serves as an assistant football coach.
“I also like to cook, travel, and do arts and crafts,” says Emanuel, adding, “and I’m into decorating.”
Emanuel, who majored in education and human sciences at the University of Nebraska, worked as a phlebotomist for six years following graduation, serving three years in a blood bank and three years in research.
She’s now working with future BVU students across the Midwest, sharing with them all she’s found on what she terms, “this beautiful campus” in Storm Lake.
“The first time I visited BVU, I knew it’d be a wonderful place for me,” she says. “I had always heard great things about Storm Lake and now I’m here getting to experience it and getting to share it with others. I walk through campus and see our students and I say to myself, ‘I wish I would have gone to a school like this!’”
